FIVA Identity Card & Eucon:
A Strategic Modernization for Automotive Heritage
In 2025, the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens
(FIVA) continues its commitment to preserving and promoting
the world’s automotive cultural heritage. As part of this mission,
FIVA has not only modernized its FIVA Vehicle Identity
Card, a central tool for collectors and enthusiasts, but has also
signed an agreement with Eucon, an internationally renowned
digital pioneer in data management with over a quarter century
of experience in driving digital transformation in the automotive
and historic vehicle industries. This collaboration reflects a shared ambition to blend tradition and innovation in the service of historic vehicle preservation. This collaboration is not only a logical, but also a proverbial ‘next-step’ development of FiVA’s efforts to combine the safeguarding of tradition with the promotion of innovation in the service of preserving historic vehicles.
The FIVA Identity Card: A Global Benchmark, Modernized
for the Future
The FIVA Identity Card is more than just a document: it is a
global reference for the certification and recognition of historic
vehicles and ‘Youngtimers’ (vehicles over twenty years’
old which fall below the threshold of thirty years to qualify for
recognition as a historic vehicle,) documenting the extent of a
vehicle’s originality and history in a verified manner. In keeping
with the increasing demands of event organizers, national
and international registration authorities, the changing needs
of owners and the manufacturing industry, the FIVA Technical
Commission has recently dedicated over a year of work
towards the modernization of the FIVA Identity Card in order
to fully address the evolving needs of not only owners but
industry stakeholders as well.
Key Features of the New FIVA Identity Card:
- Comprehensive and independent technical documentation,
validated by experts.
- Highlighting the unique characteristics of each vehicle,
ensuring and documenting its authenticity and archiving
its history.
- A modernized, streamlined and digitalized application
process incorporating video tutorials and interactive QR
codes for enhanced ease of use.
- National and international recognition, essential for exchanges,
events, future regulations, and, for a number
of countries, eligibility for reduced road tax and/or insurance.
Eucon: A Visionary Partner Supporting
the Preservation and Roadworthiness
of Historic Vehicles
Building upon this modernization, FIVA has proceeded to partner
with Eucon, a globally recognized leader in the field of
automotive data services and supplier access. The data services
provided by Eucon not only enable historic and young
timer vehicle owners to find and check availability for spare
parts and technical information but to also be able to identify
alternative and multiple sources. This partnership is a decisive
step forward for the preservation and use of these vehicles for
future generations.
Key Benefits of This Collaboration:
- A natural capitalization of competitive advantages and
synergies: While the FIVA Identity Card details the history
and identification of vehicles, concomitantly, Eucon
facilitates access to essential spare parts and resources
for repair, maintenance, restoration and reconditioning..
- Enhanced support for sector stakeholders: through
Eucon, owners, collectors, restorers and professionals
gain access to global data services, securing and optimizing
preservation processes.
- Impact at all levels: This partnership benefits owners,
collectors, clubs and associations and FIVA National
Authorities (ANFs) and supports FIVA’s global heritage
mission.

A Shared Vision: Tradition and Innovation for Preservation

challenges while remaining true to its mission. This
strategic partnership reflects a bold and forward-looking long
