1987 AMV8 Vantage X-Pack Saloon

Aston Martin Works

1987 AMV8 Vantage X-Pack Saloon - £545,000

Chassis# L12563
Engine # V580/2563X

First shown at the 1986 Birmingham motor show, the
‘X Pack’ sported Vantage specification aerodynamic modifications; namely the grille (available either with a mesh or blanking plate), front air dam, rear flick tail incorporated into the deck lid and the closed off bonnet air intake.

In a marked departure from the standard AMV8, the
‘X Pack’ was fitted with beautiful Ronal wheels. Drawing inspiration from the wire wheels seen on the DB models of previous decades.

Most importantly, the car was fitted with the 580X specification V8 engine giving rise to the ‘X Pack’ designation. An improvement on the Vantage engine, the new unit produced 420bhp.

The ‘X Pack’, then, is regarded as the pinnacle of the saloon
derivative of the AMV8. For collectors and investors alike, this is the most desirable version of Great Britain’s first supercar.
